President
Jared is the second-generation owner and President of Brawner Insurance. He is committed to helping clients find the right coverage for their needs and providing the best possible service while continuing his father’s legacy. Jared is a trusted community member involved in several local charities and organizations. He is married and has four children.
Bonita Schmitz
Sr. Sales Advisor - Personal & Medicare Division
Bonita has been a dedicated member of the Brawner Insurance team for 14 years. Her responsibilities encompass Property, Casualty, Life, and Medicare Supplement sales, as well as overseeing general office management. Bonita is passionate about helping her community save on insurance while ensuring top-notch coverage. When not at work, she enjoys reading, traveling, and quality time with her family.
Monica Mayfield Zahn
Sr. Advocate - Crop Division
With years of experience, Monica joined the Brawner Insurance team because of her passion for crop insurance and her customer base. Monica is passionate about being a dependable resource for her community, providing 24/7 support to her customers. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, relaxing at Baring Lake, and spending time with her daughter, who runs a bakery.
Jake Bunker
Sales Advisor – Personal & Commercial Division
Jake is the go-to sales advisor for Northeast MO and Southeast IA and resides in Kahoka, MO. He strives to help others while utilizing his 12 years of experience in various finance, sales, and management roles. When he has time to step away from delivering for his customers, you can find Jake spending time with his growing family and watching sports, especially golf and the NFL.
Brittany Kelsey
Sales Advisor – Crop & Livestock Division
Brittany has spent over 10 years cultivating relationships with Missouri agriculture producers to always put their best interest in mind. She is responsible for growing our agriculture division, consulting with the area’s top farmers on their Livestock (LRP & LGM) and Crop (Multi-Peril & PRF) needs. Brittany enjoys spending time working on their family cow-calf operation, showing livestock, and playing sports with her three boys.
Jacob Brawner
Director of Operations
In 2024, after spending 10 years in education, Jacob made the jump to the insurance industry on a full-time basis to join the Brawner Insurance team. Licensed since 2022, Jacob has gained experience in commercial, personal, and farm insurance. He brings a unique perspective to his role and prides himself on using his teaching background to break complex topics down to make them simple for his clients. Outside of his professional life, Jacob enjoys coaching youth sports, spending time with his family, and anything related to Mizzou sports. Jacob and his wife, Shelby, have two daughters - Rylan and Korie.
